JCCGV FESTIVAL HA'RIKUD RECONNECTS LOCAL DANCERS WITH ISRAELI COUNTERPARTS
On May 16-17, 2010, the seventh annual JCCGV Festival Ha’Rikud, Vancouver’s youth Israeli folk dance festival, will take place at the JCCGV. The festival features over 200 dancers from Israel, Argentina, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Miami, as well as Vancouver’s own JCCGV Or Chadash Dancers who will be reconnected with their sister dance troupe from Israel, Hora Goel. SECURITY PARTNERSHIP BRINGS IMPROVEMENTS COMMUNITY WIDE
Security is an ongoing concern for the Jewish community, and since 2008 it has been addressed as a community-wide issue. Jewish Federation partnered with Canadian Jewish Congress—Pacific Region (CJC) to pioneer a comprehensive security initiative that positively impacted over 27 institutions in our community. Risks identified through extensive security audits were addressed with both physical upgrades and skills training. MORE
