STUDENTS LEARN VALUABLE LIFE SKILLS THROUGH PUBLIC SPEAKING CONTEST
On Tuesday, February 14th, the 24th Annual Public Speaking Contest will take place, presented by Jewish Federation and State of Israel Bonds. Students in grades four through seven will present three minute speeches – which can feel like a lifetime for some, and for others, it will go by in the blink of an eye.
More than 100 students will present speeches on relevant Jewish issues, including the importance of a Jewish homeland, mitzvot and tzedekah, and what makes a Jewish home. They also have the option of selecting their own topic based on a Jewish theme of particular significance to them. Reflecting on these topics absorbs the students in relevant Jewish issues, and gives them an important outlet to voice their opinions. MORE
