You can travel to Israel again…for free!

Taglit-Birthright Israel has expanded its program eligibility to include young adults who have previously visited Israel as part of a peer trip. This change was driven by the recognition that individuals who visited as teenagers would significantly enhance their understanding and attachment to Israel through participation in the 10-day Taglit-Birthright experience as young adults.

The change in eligibility takes effect with summer 2014 registration, which opens on Feb. 19th, 2014 starting at 7 a.m. PST. If you are between the ages of 18-26, and have visited Israel on an organized peer trip before the age of 18 years old, you are now eligible to apply.

If’at Eilon-Heiber, Director, Israel and Overseas Affairs at the Jewish Federation, revealed that Taglit-Birthright Israel has sent more than 350,000 young Jewish adults to Israel since it was established. “We expect the change in the eligibility requirements will broaden participation, but more importantly help strengthen ties and enhance knowledge, perspective and insights about Israel and its people.” Each year, $100,000 from the Federation Annual Campaign helps send local teens and young adults on life-changing Birthright experiences in Israel.
