Earlier this year, Jewish Federation introduced the Community Inclusion Grant program, created to increase the number of opportunities for Jewish youth and adults with special needs to engage and connect with our community. Designed to encourage the creation of new and innovative programming, these grants are part of Federation’s overall plan to facilitate greater inclusion of Jewish youth and adults with special needs in our community.

Community Inclusion Grants represent an opportunity for community agencies, some of which do not otherwise qualify for funding through our allocations process, to drive new programs and events that support those with special needs in our community.

Summer Birthright trips are well underway, with nearly 70 Vancouver participants travelling to Israel for free this summer. Jewish Federation funds one-third of each of these, first time, peer group, educational trips to Israel for Jewish young adults ages 18 to 26 – which come at no cost to the participants. The Israeli government and leading Jewish philanthropists cover the remaining two-thirds of the cost of each trip. MORE

These houses are home to Jewish-minded 20-somethings who actively engage their peers through casual programming. Residents build local, home-based communities, and lead ongoing creative, welcoming Jewish programming. MORE

This is the second time that Ma’ase has been recognized recently; the first for contributing to Israel’s social and economic security. MORE
