TONIGHT: YOM HA'SHOAH COMMEMORATIVE EVENING
Please join our community tonight to commemorate Yom HaShoah.
The commemoration features a Holocaust survivor speaker and a musical program. In a moving candle lighting ceremony, local Holocaust survivors will honour the memory of those who perished.
Yom HaShoah is the day on which Jewish communities world-wide mark and remember the Holocaust and the loss of the six million Jews who were murdered, and the millions of other victims including Roma and Sinti, homosexuals, Jehovah’s Witnesses, the mentally and physically disabled and political dissidents.
The program ends as it does every year with the musical performers joined by the audience in a powerful and evocative rendition of the Partisan song, Zog Nit Keynmol, a symbol of resistance against Nazi Germany's persecution of the Jews during the Holocaust.
