EDUCATORS’ CONFERENCE STRENGTHENS CROSS-CULTURAL RELATIONSHIPS
Seven Israeli principals, directors and coordinators from our Partnership2Gether (P2G) region in the Galilee Panhandle recently returned to Israel after an Educators' Conference held here in Vancouver. The annual conference is funded by Jewish Federation and brings schools and community centres from both Israel and Vancouver together to work on Jewish curricula and explore common themes, challenges and needs
The conference was designed and executed by Federation’s gesher chai (living bridge) educators committee, chaired by Dorin Eilon-Heiber. “The conference focused on exposing our guests to a Jewish community outside of Israel, our unique challenges, the way we operate as a community and the importance of the connection with Israel and its people,” says Dorin. Together, the educators developed joint curricula based on an overall theme chosen by partner schools in both countries. MORE
