PHILIPPINES TYPHOON RELIEF FUND CONTINUES

One of the strongest storms on record slammed into the central Philippines on Friday, November 8, 2013, killing thousands of people. Many more are feared dead and close to one million people have been forced to flee their homes. Typhoon Haiyan raced across a string of highly populated Philippine islands, leaving behind landslides, blocked roads, uprooted trees and tragic destruction.

Our Community’s Response—Relief Fund Now Open
Jewish Federation opened the Philippines Typhoon Relief Fund relief fund, which has raised $37,251 to date. One hundred percent of donations goes directly to aid, and donations are being matched by the Government of Canada until December 9th.

Donate online today, or call our office at 604.257.5110.

Providing Non-Sectarian Humanitarian Relief
Whenever and wherever disaster strikes, Jewish Federation is there to help in times of crisis. Our fundraising efforts will be combined with those of other Jewish communities in Canada through Jewish Federations of Canada-UIA. Funds collected through the emergency campaign go directly to help victims and their families through the Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) and Israeli-based humanitarian organization IsraAID, our trusted partners in the rescue and relief field.
