FEDERATION ANNUAL CAMPAIGN: STRENGTHENING JEWISH IDENTITY, ENRICHING COMMUNITY LIFE

Vancouver is a beautiful place to live, but, as we all know, it is also very expensive. Our Jewish community is feeling the impact.

Nearly half of our community members now live outside the City of Vancouver, beyond the reach of most of our community institutions. Many of them are struggling to connect to Jewish life and the community support systems they need. Many are unable to access Jewish programs and services – from the Jewish Food Bank to day camps and schools. Those who live more centrally are closer to the centres of Jewish life, but the high cost of living means many of them cannot afford to participate in Jewish programs.

The Federation Annual Campaign aims to change that.

The Hebrew Free Loan Association offers interest free loans up to to a maximum of $7,000 for personal loans, $10,000 for education and special purpose loans, and up to $750 for emergency loans to members of the Jewish community to help deal with family emergencies, start a new career, pursue education, settle new immigrants, deal with business failure, or generally make ends meet. The L’Chaim Adult Day Centre has space available for the beloved fragile older adult in your life.

The JCCGV's Bagel Club runs a weekly community kitchen program open to all adults with special needs, Mondays from 5-7:00 p.m. in the program kitchen at the JCCGV. For more information please contact Anat Toledano at 604.257.5111 ext.710 or email.
